A couple of weeks ago, Jerry Jones held a meeting at his home to discuss some of the lakes and parks infrastructure and what we can do to make it more usable by our members. Among the topics:
Old Lake (#1) needs clearing on the north and east end. There are four bridges, perhaps more, that need replacing. The walking path on the south side has eroded badly in the past few years and will need a new bulkhead. Jerry is getting quotes on the bridges and bulkhead. It was also suggested that we build a new pier like the one on Hidden Lake. The clearing is on our to-do list for the next workday when the weather cools off.
Bream Lake (#2) needs clearing on the south side. On our last workday we did a lot of clearing on the park and cleanup of the storage building. The pier on the south side of the lake needs work, too, and we’ll need to do an assessment of its condition.
Long Lake (#3) needs a new bridge across the dam and there are two piers that need work, as well, on both the west and northeast sides.
Hidden Lake has some erosion going on between the spillway and the bridge which we’ll need to keep an eye on.
We appreciate all the volunteers who donate their time in order to make our neighborhood a more enjoyable place to live. Our long-range goal is to have as many walking trails as possible around our lakes so that our members can enjoy the lovely common areas our dues make possible.
