Here are the spring projects planned for our lakes and parks:
- The old rail fence near Long Lake (#3) spillway will be replaced
- Feeders on all the lakes will be repainted and repaired
- Eurasion grass carp will be stocked in Lake #3 to control vegetation
- Bass forage (minnows and panfish) will be stocked in all lakes
- Old Lake (#1) trailhead on Big Timber will be cleaned and refurbished
- Walking trail around Old Lake (#1) will be reestablished
- Damage caused by beavers will be minimized
- Overgrowth of grasses and brush removed from all lake shorelines
- Erosion repair on creek near Hidden Lake (#4)
We have fishing tournaments for youngsters scheduled for spring and fall. If you don’t have a fishing pole or tackle, no worries. We will have plenty available to borrow! Medals will be awarded to the top 3 winners. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
If you plan to use the lakes and parks, don’t forget to display your CPCA sticker on the back window of your vehicle. Updated stickers for 2025-2026 have been ordered. They should be arriving soon, and will be available at the Easter Egg Hunt / Spring Meeting. I can also deliver upon request.
As warmer days approach, I encourage you all to get outdoors! It takes a lot to keep our lakes and parks looking nice, so do your best to keep litter secured, pick up after your pets, and consider helping during our scheduled work days.
