Coyote In Country Place

111009_CountryPlcCoyote_0861a

I had heard from the Helmers down on Great Oak Circle that they had seen coyotes in our neighborhood. Sunday afternoon we were in the yard and one of my boys said “Look at that big fox!” But it was a coyote, and it was watching our cat closely.

This morning Kratos and I were walking up Oak Meadow Circle when we saw a coyote lope across the road and into the Middleton’s back yard. I mananged to snap a few (shaky) pictures. Just a reminder that if you have a small dog or a cat, be aware that this coyote was hunting at 8:20am this morning in broad daylight.

Vandalism on Lakeshore
Received the following email yesterday from Terri McLarey:
This afternoon 11/7 at approximately 4:00 pm our mailbox was hit with what looks like to be a hammer or bat.  A large hole  was knocked into the side of the brick.  If anyone has any information on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Adopt-A-Cat
This from Kelly Smith:
I have a wonderful three year old black kitty that needs a new home.  She is short haired and very loving but isn’t getting along well with her sister kitty.  She is declawed (front),  fixed, litter trained and loves dogs but needs to be the only kitty in the house.  She is now living on the back porch with my dog and she needs a good home before winter.

She is my personal favorite but the sister kitty is my daughters..  Shady is smart, loves to be on your lap or chest for a nap and if your on the computer too long she will get your attention.  Shady is a great cat and deserves a better home life than the back porch and very friendly.  I don’t want to take her to the Humane Society, I would much rather have her close by so my son can visit occasionally, if that is permitted.  We haven’t had any more problems since we separated the kitty’s, so I know it is a territorial thing that we can’t live with.  If you happen to know of anyone wanting a grown kitty I would consider that as well.  Thanks for your time and hope to hear from someone soon.  I will even let someone test drive for a few days, she will win your heart.

Fun at the Fall Festival, 10/31/2009

What a nice time we had at the Country Place Fall Festival and Hayride. Our thanks to Lee Kodet, Ken Terrell, Tom Perry, Lane Norvell, and everyone who worked hard to make it a success. I snapped photos and posted a slide show (click the image above to see the gallery).

This is always an opportunity to visit with folks we don’t see often and to see how much the kids have grown.
