Keep Whitehouse Beautiful, Country Place Frontage, Help Wanted!

Hello!I was contacted by the Keep Whitehouse Beautiful (KWB)group today about the upcoming Trash Off Day, Saturday, April 4th.  In the past, we have participated by getting a crew of Country Place residents together to pick up the trash along Hwy 346.  Our normal area covers from the bridge between CP and Oakbrook east to CR 15.  About 1 or 2 miles.  They provide us the bags and occasionally there are t-shirts. We gather the trash and put it in a pile at the entrances to CP. We need to count the number of bags and let the reps know where they can pick it up. They usually come within a few days to get it.

Here’s where I need help!  I need an organizer. Someone who can make the contacts to get volunteers, go get the bags and/or t-shirts, count the bags and provide KWB with our report.  It would also be nice if we had some refreshments at the “meeting location. ”  You know, donuts, water bottles, juice.  CP can refund your expenses.  I can certainly help with the volunteer recruitment by sending out a mass email to all residents asking for help. It may take some additional phone calls and a reminder nearer the date.

Our daughter, Kate, will be running in a track meet that day so I am not available to help.  If you would be interested in taking this on, or helping (there are some on the list that may be able to incorporate this into a Home School project for the older kids), call me or reply to this email. I’ll be happy to answer any questions!

Letter to Country Place from Ed & Joy Smith

Good morning Rebecca,

I now have a computer and so thankful to be able to keep in touch with friends and family once again with emails. With you having everyone’s email address in Country Place, I will appreciate you forwarding this to each them.

On January 9th Ed and I began a journey that no one would ask the Lord to send their way but He allowed it for us and has shown us love in such an overwhelming way that we could not have experienced otherwise. We have known that Country Place is a neighborhood of wonderful people but the bonding God gave us that Friday night and Saturday morning as people we didn’t even know were there to lend a helping hand was an experience we will never forget. After getting the computer, we had over 600 emails with so many assuring us of their prayers and wanting to help any way that was needed. We have felt the prayers and all of your concern as you have grieved with us during this time in our lives. We can only give God the glory and honor for His faithfulness “for such a time as this”. Ester 4:14

We continue to covet your prayers as we seek God’s direction. A couple of weeks after Ed and I got our cars, the storm that came to Tyler with high winds blew some pieces of material off the building at Candlewood Suites and damaged his right front fender and hood. This seems to be our year for using insurance but again, so thankful we have it.

Words cannot express to you dear neighbor friends what your standing with us, encouraging us with your prayers, notes, encouraging words and being the arms of Jesus in the flesh has meant to us. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we ask God that He bless you abundantly as He continues to bless us.

With our love and thankful hearts,

Ed and Joy
